MYSTERY ON MAIN STREET
MYSTERY ON MAIN  STREET

1935

Built in 1935, 924 E Main Street was the home built for J.S. Brown and family, founders of Bruce Foods and The Original Louisiana Hot Sauce, a brand known and recognized across the world. While everything around it changed, the businesses, the developments, the commercial sprawl that swallowed this stretch of Main Street block by block, this house did not move, did not yield, and did not become anything other than exactly what it has always been. The antiques, the furniture, the fixtures, nearly everything you will touch and see inside this home is original to the house. What you are stepping into is real. New Iberia has always been hot sauce country. Avery Island sits just miles away, the birthplace of Tabasco, one of the most recognized condiments on earth. The pepper culture here runs deep, generational, and fiercely private. Recipes passed down in kitchens. Formulas guarded like family secrets.

This is not a strip mall escape room experience. There is no manufactured atmosphere here. The atmosphere was already here, built over nine decades of Louisiana life, cooking, and stories that were never meant to leave the property. The rest of Main Street moved on but this house never did. We simply added a mystery worthy of the setting.
